Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A Special Education Teacher is needed to provide essential support in a lower elementary Resource Classroom serving students in grades K-2. This role offers the opportunity to work with a caseload of approximately 10 students and supports an inclusive learning environment tailored to meet diverse needs, including Speech, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD), and Other Health Impairments (OHI).

Location: Jackson, MI (K-12 School)Duration: Contract from August 25, 2025, through approximately November 21, 2025 (covering an FMLA vacancy)Grade Levels: Kindergarten through 2nd grade

Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction and interventions aligned with each student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
• Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to ensure integrated and effective programming
• Implement specialized teaching strategies to address Speech, ASD, SLD, and OHI needs
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional approaches as necessary
• Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages learning and social development
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress and goals

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Experience working with K-2 students in a Resource Classroom setting
• Knowledge of Speech impairments, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Specific Learning Disabilities, and Other Health Impairments
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to manage a caseload effectively while providing individualized attention
