Role Summary

Lead  technical s ourc ing ,  commercial  develop ment , and industrializ ation of   Rivian   I n-house  M anufacturing S upply  C hain ,  increasing   internal  manufacturing capabilities through smart , effective capex strategy creation and execution .


Responsibilities

  • Managing industrial automation /equipment supplier development and strategic relationships
  • Identifytechnologies,suppliers,assesscapabilities,andcreatesourcingplanswithRivian stakeholders. 
  • Build andmaintainunique understanding of supply base, market conditions, and technology roadmaps. 
  • Lead strategic sourcingevents,supplier interfacing,as well asdispute resolutionsof complexmanufacturing issues. 
  • Steercontractual negotiations with suppliersexecutingPurchase AgreementsandStatement of Works.
  • Support in timely and efficient Capex design, execution, and life cycle sustaining of new factories and equipment projects with manufacturing engineering partners and key cross-functional teams.
  • Drive cost and commercial value negotiations with detailed data and specific content-based analysis .
  • Manage supplierand tiered supplierperformanceusing first principles approach andkey performance metrics.
  • Monitor capex spend forecast (totals and timing) and risk with Rivian Finance team, including internal guidanceto improve.
  • Work closely alongside Program Management to supportprogramrequirements,ensure adherence tobuildperformancemilestones and track progress.
  • Communicate direct ly with senior leadership team on key strategic supplier and technology-based decisions
  • Create should-cost models to build program budgets with cross-functional teams.
  • Drive commercial and business decisions with leadership, includingestablishingtechnologyinvesmentsroadmaps
  • Expand and support planning of Rivian’s globalCapExsupplier footprint. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’sand/or Advanceddegree inEngineering,Supply Chain, or Business.
  • 2-5years oftechnical sourcing, capital projectprocurementexperienceorsimilar. 
  • Managed commercialrelationshipsin an Automotive, Electronics ora similarhigh-volumemanufacturing business. 
  • Strongunderstanding of thetechnologyandsupplierlandscape inautomotivemanufacturingandindustrialization.
  • Analytical skills,technical literacy, and attention to detailrequiredtosolve complex cross-functional issues.
  • Good interpersonal and communications skills,high levelof integrity and emotional IQ.
  • Experience working and managing projects globally, and flexibility to travel.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiencyin multiple languages a bonus

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range/Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants: $107,800 - $146,500 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

Salary Range/Hourly Rate for Illinois/Michigan Based Applicants: $98,500 - $123,100 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
