Job Description As a Security Officer -Armed Government Facility - Afternoon Shift in Reno, NV, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more . As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a secure environment at a government location. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols, remaining highly visible to help deter unwanted activity, and responding promptly to incidents as they arise. This is an armed and driving post, requiring you to carry a firearm and operate a vehicle as part of your daily duties. You will interact with the public and staff, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication while upholding the highest standards of professionalism.   • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
Responsibilities:
  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at the location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the property and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and other access points to help to deter unauthorized entry and/or activity.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and/or hazards according to Allied Universal and client protocols.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and/or emergency services as needed during incidents or emergencies.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the location to help to deter potential threats and provide reassurance to employees and visitors.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Possess at least 1 year of experience in armed security-related, law enforcement, or military roles.
  • Possess a valid armed guard card or license as required by state and/or local regulations.
  • A valid driver's license is required and must meet Allied Universal driver policy requirements for driving positions.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
