Job Title: Polishing Associate

Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Polishing Associate where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and finish of acrylic windows. You will be tasked with polishing, buffing, and cleaning acrylic windows to remove scratches, pits, and imperfections, ensuring they meet our high standards.

Responsibilities

• Inspect windows for scratches, pits, and distortion.
• Utilize an orbital sander with various grits to repair damaged areas.
• Repeat sanding as necessary to eliminate larger scratches.
• Use polish and a high-speed polisher to remove hairline scratches.
• Wipe down windows with a clean cloth after polishing.
• Conduct final inspections to ensure windows are free of defects.
• Sign off on work orders to maintain part traceability.
• Seek guidance and direction as needed for performing duties.
• Keep supervisors informed about work status and potential issues.
• Report to work on time and maintain a neat and orderly work area.
• Maintain confidentiality of company and customer information.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
• Assist and train other employees as necessary.

Essential Skills

• Ability to stand or sit for 7 to 9 hours a day.
• Capacity to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
• Proficiency in bending and stooping for 5 to 6 hours daily.
• Clear communication skills.
• Understanding of work orders and process specifications.
• Experience holding buffing and polishing tools for extended periods.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of orbital sanding experience preferred.
• Experience in auto body or wood sanding preferred.
• Mechanically inclined with general manufacturing experience.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments.
• 1 year of manufacturing experience in any field preferred.

Work in a production environment that is both clean and bright. The facility is climate-controlled, ensuring comfort year-round. Safety goggles and protective gloves are required to maintain a safe working environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, Kansas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $17.00/hr.
