Salary: $12.65/hr plus mileage reimbursement

Meals on Wheels New Mexicos mission is to deliver healthy meals and friendship neighbor to neighbor. We seek an On-Call Meal Delivery Driver with a deep capacity to serve others, while ensuring the meals are delivered safely and on-time so clients receive life-sustaining meals and friendship each day.

We require:

• A deep belief in our values of Compassion, Reliability, Service, and Teamwork
• Basic computer literacy
• Maintained high standard of person hygiene
• Willingness to work with diverse populations
• Valid drivers license and vehicle insurance
• Reliable, personal transportation
• Consistent, excellent customer service with a positive attitude
• Passing background, drug, and DMV check
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and be physically able to bend, stoop, walk, and climb stairs
• Must be 18 years old or older

Accountabilities include:

• Support the mission, vision, and values of MOW
• Must know theGreater Albuquerque Metropolitan Area well and feel comfortable driving in many different situations, including inclement weather
• Abide by all traffic laws and regulations (i.e., speed limit, seatbelts, etc.)
• Ensure meals are delivered within established times
• Ensure all food transport equipment is clean and well maintained
• Effectively represent MOW in a positive manner with great customer service, treating all staff, volunteers, and clients with dignity and respect always

Why we exist

Meals on Wheels New Mexico is a private 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation founded in 1972. We are the only home delivered meal program in our area preparing special diets for a variety of needs, including diabetes, renal failure, heart issues, chewing and swallowing problems, etc. We provide our services to anyone of any age. There are no restrictions for age or disability. We currently have clients in their 20s to our oldest client who just celebrated her 109th birthday. We can provide meals for any duration whether they are needed during a period of recuperation or for many years.
