Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 10 years' expertise in LNG, midstream, refining, and/or petrochemical industries. This role involves technology selection, evaluation of equipment sizing and design, preparation of detailed specifications, and overseeing technical bid evaluations. The ideal candidate will ensure equipment meets process duty requirements, adheres to API standards, and contributes to safe, efficient, and reliable project outcomes while mentoring junior engineers.

 

  • Accessing Perform rotating equipment technology selection.
  • Evaluate equipment sizing, design, and performance to meet process duty requirements.
  • Prepare specifications with sufficient detail to define the equipment scope and technical requirements, including auxiliary systems, for inquiry and order of equipment on projects.
  • Perform technical bid evaluations.
  • Review vendor documents submitted for review or approval.
  • Act as the communication focal point for appropriate information/data between the vendor, client, and other disciplines.
  • Support installation, commissioning, and startup of rotating equipment.
  • Develop criteria, guidelines, and best practices for the equipment to provide for a safe, efficient, cost-effective, and reliable end product. 
  • Mentor less experienced engineers.

 

Skills Required

  • At least 10 years of experience in rotating equipment application specifically in the LNG, midstream, refining, and/or petrochemical industries.
  • Thorough (recognized authority) knowledge and application of:
    • API standards for rotating equipment and their auxiliary systems
    • Best practices associated with rotating equipment and their auxiliary systems
    • Quality assurance m ethods and practices for manufacture of the equipment.
    • Strong understanding of underlying engineering principles of best practices.
    • Strong critical thinking skills.
    • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management skills.
    • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
    • Commitment to safety, ethics, and integrity

     

Education/Training/Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a four-year college or university.
