Job Description

The Clinic Receptionist is responsible to the Clinic Assistant Manager. The Receptionist is responsible for efficient scheduling of clinic patients, assisting in clinic workflow, answering the phone, chart preparation and maintenance, checking patients in upon their arrival at the clinic, checking patients out after their appointment, and scheduling follow up visits.

• Knowledge of business office procedures
• Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling and punctuation to type patient information
• Skilled in operating a computer and photocopier
• Positive and strong communication skills and the ability to deal tactfully and harmoniously with all clinic consumers
• Able to speak clearly and concisely
• Able to read, understand, and follow written and oral instructions
• Able to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetic and/or numeric filing systems
• Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, clinic/hospital staff and the public
• One year experience in a medical office/clinic setting preferred
• Demonstrates evidence of continuing education or experience appropriate for position's required skill level
• Well-groomed and demonstrates appropriate conduct

Essential Job Functions

• High school diploma, or GED
• Able to use or be trained to use office equipment such as computer information system, copier, fax, 10 key machine, credit/debit card machine
